Who are they looking for?
They are looking for a bright, technical graduate, passionate about technology and being part of the process that helps shape android software solutions used by enterprise businesses across the globe. As a Junior Developer Advocate, you'll be working on demo apps, seeking out speaking slots, liaising with the sales and technical teams to provide them with software input to sales or proposals, working on proofs of concept, writing blog posts and working to become their 'Go To' person in EMEA for software.
Once trained and experienced, their role will entail being our link to the developer community, to sales teams and to ISVs for example to be an advisor, advocate, trouble shooter and be seen as an industry expert on next generation cloud computing with a global technology brand.
You'll use your coding skills in a practical way so WILL be at the coalface from a software perspective, but you'll also be the 'voice' for software both internally and externally - getting yourself 'out there' into the wider community.
Who are you?
You will likely be a graduate of a computer science/software engineering related degree, perhaps with some (even if a little) exposure to customer projects. This could have been from an internship during your degree or ideally a commercial role post studies.
You must be able to code (Android development hugely important as well as Java for example), be a real self-starter with the drive and personality to embed yourself in the business, to seek out speaking slots, to seek out contacts / key relationships internally or with customers and the developer community. Perhaps you have done hackathons? Had active social exposure from a software perspective which demonstrates your outgoing, confident character?
How will I develop?
When you start, you'll have help from existing software focused engineers, sales team, US developer enablement community etc. Once established, you'll start to travel with sales teams for to see customers and become an important part of the solutions process, you will attend developer events and evangelise our software capability.
What do I get paid?
We'd look to pay about £25k base and it's a 80/20 split so OTE would be about £31,250. In addition they offer a fantastic range of benefits, continuous development and the opportunity to join a truly global leading brand at the cutting edge of technology.
