Job Description

The Ashdown Group have been engaged by a highly successful and award winning business to assist them in their search for an experienced Accounts Assistant, who demonstrates a good understanding of debit/credit and the core accounting fundamentals.

Reporting into the Financial Controller and working alongside the wider finance team, this is an excellent opportunity which would suit a motivated individual who is currently studying towards their ACA/ACCA/CIMA and looking to work a varied role, within a successful environment.

Your daily duties will include:

Reconciling purchase order accounts against quarterly purchase order transactions
Preparing online bank payments when required
Maintaining the supplier accounts
Completing bank reconciliation
Ensuring all staff expenses are completed electronically, paying out petty case and posting receipts onto Sage 50
Calculating accruals and prepayments at Month-end and preparing variance analysis on the cost to the business
Preparing creditor reports
Giving general administrative support to the Finance Team when required

The ideal candidate will be a well organised, self-starter who can operate well under pressure, use their initiative and demonstrate excellent attention to detail in their work. A finance related degree and/or be studying towards an accountancy qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, ACA. You should also have experience with Sage 50 and have intermediate Excel skills and be comfortable with pivot tables and v-look ups.
