Job Description

A global insurance provider is seeking a newly qualified Accountant to join their London based team of loss adjusters. This would suit a newly qualified Accountant looking to progress their career within the Loss Adjusting sector. Operating within a team environment and reporting to the London & South East Regional Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the handling of insurance claims, with a specific focus on the interpretation of financial data, the calculation of business interruption, the evaluation of stock losses and specialist financial claims.


* Investigating, negotiating and agreeing settlement of claims in a professional manner
* Liaising with all stake-holders to achieve professional and timely conclusion of claims
* Completing on and off-site investigations to examine and validate the financial aspects of claims
* Producing reports in compliance with professional standards and internal guidelines in accordance with agreed timescales
* Assisting the firm's loss adjusters with specialist support and advice on financial aspects
* Actively contributing towards the firm's business development programme, including a willingness to network, identify and facilitate opportunities for business growth
* Undertaking projects and other ad hoc work as required

Requirements of the Role:

* The successful candidate will be a qualified (ACCA/ACA) with auditing experience and with a desire to progress to Chartered Loss Adjuster status.
* A strong working knowledge of MS software packages is required along with the ability to produce and present both narrative and numerical reports.
* Excellent communication and inter-personal skills are critical to the role, with a proven track record of building strong working relationships, both externally and internally
* Stakeholder management is key, including the ability to manage demanding caseloads with deadlines to meet
*A pride in delivering quality outputs is important, with a focus on quality, communication and organisational skills.
* A proven capability in negotiation, decision making, and problem-solving, is important
*A willingness to travel throughout the UK and Ireland where necessary is required
* Candidates must be prepared to work towards CILA qualification
