Running a Windows Server environment with some legacy Linux servers the Systems Administrator role is focused on building a class-leading structure with scalability and redundancy built-in. Leading the infrastructure efforts the incumbent will consolidate, plan and transition various systems in liaison with the IT Manager and relevant stakeholders.
Over a ten year period systems organically grew, with limited best-practice or documentation but rapid recent expansion has placed a significant strain, so revisions and improvements are required. This is a rare opportunity to work in an established, well-funded IT environment to reassess and rethink entrenched practice.
Windows Systems Administrator (with Linux) - Shepherd's Bush, west London - up to £45,000
To be successful at interview a candidate will need to demonstrate expert knowledge of Windows servers and the implementation of Active Directory. In addition, the remit calls for infrastructure knowledge that includes virtualisation, storage, security, networking and Linux servers.
Further to any project work this role will require Business As Usual support and maintenance.
