A highly successful, global financial services business are looking for an experienced Engineer to join their Platform Reliability Team. This team is a collective of highly skilled software engineers that focus on building reliability and performance into this organisations key platform. The focus of this team is to empower development teams to deliver reliable high performance software.
As the Senior Engineer you will engage with development teams before services go live through system design and consulting, development of libraries and services, capacity planning and launch reviews. You will ensure once live that services are monitored and validated and will practice sustainable incident response.
The key requirement for this role is that candidates envisage themselves as an Engineer rather than a Developer. You should demonstrate passion for both Software Development and Software Reliability. You should enjoy working closely with development teams in consulting and reviewing design and quality software components.
To be suitable you will have the following skills:
Experience developing reliable applications with good design patterns
Exposure to environments characterized by high throughput, low latency and zero downtime
Ability to design technical solutions
In depth understanding of Java, C++ and JVM
Messaging systems i.e JMS, Lightstreamer
The salary on offer for this Senior Engineer role is £62,000 plus bonus and benefits.
