Working with a global market leading technology business, specialising in mobile solutions and asset visibility for enterprise supply chain, retail, healthcare businesses globally. They are recruiting for a driven and technically minded Solutions Architect for the EMEA region, working mainly from home and with client site visits.
Working closely with the Project Management Team, with a post sales, delivery focus, you will work on large complex bits of work , with lots of different types of architecture. The Solution Architects are responsible for delivery of all integrated solutions - traditional PSS/RFID/MDM (retail-heavy, lots of manufacturing applications), smart sensing, TLA (trailer load analytics), WLAN Solutions etc.
After the pre-sales architects have designed, scoped and had SOW approved, you will go into the clients and take responsibility for taking solutions and generating requirements documents which illustrate and set out what is actually required and how it will be installed
The successful candidate needs to be able to understand and deliver complex solutions; networking (implementation, configuration, design), server installation, database, switching etc. and how they work. They will have a number of years' experience of delivering solutions and at some point might have been a software developer/engineer in order to understand change control and other development methodologies. They should be able to understand how components interact with databases from a software perspective but in neither case (Networking or software) do they have to be a 100% expert - it's the overall understanding of how it all ties together. They should also demonstrate knowledge of Mobile Computing and Mobile Computer Operating Systems such as Windows Mobile, CE, Android, iOS and an awareness of programming languages and SW environments for mobile computers such as C#, C++, Compact Framework.
Excellent communication and presentation skills are required to effectively convey customer requirements and to lead and facilitate technical workshops to various stakeholders.
This role is a mixture of home-based and client site visits, with monthly meetings at HQ in Berkshire/ Buckinghamshire area. Day to day you manage your own diary.
The starting salary for this role is £50,000 - £60,000, dependent on skills and experience, plus a £6.3k car allowance and 10% bonus, in addition to further benefits.
