A market leading financial services company is looking for a Senior Support Engineer to join their IT Support team. Ideally you'll also have proven 3rd line support experience as well as an understanding of managing a service desk. You'll provide remote support to customers located in the company's global offices. The role holder will help manage all queries whilst helping to install, configure and support all aspects of the infrastructure.

This Service Desk Engineer role is paying up to £45,000 depending on experience plus fantastic benefits including 25 days holiday as well as a bonus, pension, private healthcare and is based in Central London.

Tasks include:

*Design and development of infrastructure changes and processes
*Assisting the Infrastructure Manager with IT infrastructure tasks and projects where necessary.
*Maintaining and administering the corporate IT infrastructure
*Troubleshooting and resolving escalated customer and infrastructure issues.
*Taking ownership of support incidents, service requests, problems, changes and projects.
*Updating and maintaining incidents, problems & changes within the service management toolset.
*Performing root cause analysis to increase system availability, submitting requests for change as required, to resolve system issues.
*Communicating experience and knowledge to other members of IT to improve support capabilities.

Experience/knowledge required:

*Degree in IT related discipline
*Minimum 5 years' corporate IT support experience
*Experience of managing junior members of staff.
*Demonstrable experience in performing root cause analysis.
*Demonstrable experience of providing support to internal customers following ITIL best practice
*Demonstrable experience of developing IT processes
*Demonstrable in-depth knowledge of administering and supporting Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, DNS, and NTFS security.
*Demonstrable experience of administering and supporting Microsoft Windows Server 2008
*Installing, operating and supporting customers on Microsoft Office
*Installing, operating and supporting customers on Microsoft Windows desktop platforms.
*Demonstrable experience of administering IT Infrastructure products and tools such as Microsoft Exchange, Symantec BackupExec, Citrix XenApp / XenDesktop, SAN, VMWare.

Candidates with experience supporting internal users following ITIL best practice will be strongly preferred. ITIL v3 Foundation certification and/or MCSA/MCSE certification desirable.
