A government organisation based in London (Westminster, Croydon and Victoria) is looking for a Senior Data Engineer / Data Modelling and Services Technical Lead tasked with directing agile delivery teams to iteratively design, build and implement a data stores in collaboration with Lead Data Architect. The role will involve delivering/ maintaining consistent data models across the enterprise and developing the data services/data products to support data needs of the projects and programmes.

This will be a contract role for 12 months with the option to extend for a further 12 months, is paying up to £725 per day and will require candidates to start no later than Thursday 3rd January, however looking for applications to be processed immediately - deadline for applications: Friday 7th December.

In order to be suitable for this role you must proven experience in a Senior Data Engineer / Data Modelling and Services Technical Lead role as well as the following essential criteria:
*SC preferred, or willing to undergo (assistance will be provided)
*Have demonstrable experience of successfully understanding user needs and designing data models to support them.
*Have demonstrable experience of using Amazon AWS (RDS, S3), JANUS Graph and other open source databases.
*Have demonstrable experience of successfully designing and delivering migration of legacy databases and data structures to POLE model.
*Design, maintain and develop conceptual, logical and physical data models and ensure that all relevant aspects of data model (granularity, etc.) are taken into account.
*Analyse the logical and physical database models and guarantee models are in accordance with standards.
*Translate technical aspects of data modelling into language that non-technical users can understand.
*Work with both technologists as well as non-technical users with ease and approachability.
*Have demonstrable experience in API development (SOAP/REST) and industry standard best practices to develop and secure APIs in public cloud.
*Have hands on demonstrable experience of using Apache Nifi "

Any experience of successfully and collaboratively working, coaching and sharing knowledge with Public Sector client teams, agile development and GDS best practises will be considered highly beneficial, but are not essential.
