Job Description

A highly successful and growing business is looking for an enthusiastic and assertive Payroll Manager to be based in the Wokingham area, Berkshire. Reporting into the COO, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day to day activities for the small payroll department. Duties will include managing and developing a payroll team, checking weekly / monthly payroll transactions, preparing weekly / monthly payroll reports as well as occasionally covering for Payroll Clerks.

In order to be suitable for this role you must have proven experience working in a Payroll Manager, Senior Payroll Clerk / Payroller or similar role, ideally in a Payroll Bureau or umbrella company environment. It is essential to have strong Payroll experience (HMRC submissions, SMP / SSP, expenses, Pensions….etc.) as well as strong knowledge of Payroll software and MS Office (Excel and Outlook particularly). The ideal candidate will also have some man-management, team-leading or supervisory experience.
