Junior SQL DBA (Database, T-SQL, Backup and Recovery, Replication, SQL Server) - London - £40,000

A very exciting opportunity with a rapidly expanding, techno-centric business. The company are realising ambitious growth plans and this position sits within a sizable IT team.

You will have the chance to be trained by an experienced SQL Developer with the intention that you quickly learn the intricacies of day to day administration of SQL Server instances across multiple environments, including production, development and testing.

You will be required to troubleshoot and resolve database issues and ensure that database performance is optimised.

In order to be considered my client is looking for existing knowledge and some commercial experience in the following areas:

- SQL Server Production DBA admin knowledge (SQL 2014, SQL 2016)
- Scheduling and monitoring jobs
- Backup and database recovery
- T-SQL - stored procedures
- Database and transactional replication

To be successful in this role, you will need to be able to work well under pressure and collaborate easily with others, including the DevOps team. Ideally you will also be proactive in generating ideas and suggesting improvements.

Other desirable skills include; RedGate, Clustering, Cloud Azure, SSIS, SSAS, Database Migrations 2016 and SQL Server High Availability and Disaster Recovery. Experience with any of these technologies would support your application but are not essential.

This is a permanent position offering a basic salary of up to £40,000 per annum.
