Job Description

The Ashdown Group has been engaged by a vibrant new petrochemicals business to assist them in their search for a technically minded administrator to join their growing IT team. The role will primarily focus on providing administrative support to the IT team, but is intended to progress into technical support for core systems over the next 12 months.

The successful candidate is likely to be an experienced administrator, or come from a sciences or IT background, perhaps with experience as a project coordinator or in 1st line support. You will need to be highly organised and should be highly adept with MS Office, ideally with some experience of SharePoint too. A familiarity with networking principles would be of particular interest, but candidates with little knowledge of networking are still encouraged to apply. Candidates from an IT Sales or IT Sales Support function, looking to move into a more technical role are also likely to be strong contenders for the position.

This role is likely to engage you in reporting and documentation specifically oriented around the IT estate and you will be coming into contact with staff of all levels on a daily basis, so written and verbal communication skills must be of the highest standard. You will also be expected to manage relationships with third party suppliers and vendors of IT equipment and software solutions as well as communicating directly with clients and customers to deal with problems or complaints or to take feedback. Over time, you are likely to adopt more technical responsibilities and opportunities in technical support, analysis or projects are likely to crop up over the course of your employment.

In return for your hard work the client will provide you with support and on going training, a salary of £27,000 - 30,000 as well as 25 days holiday, generous pension, life assurance, healthcare, and a selection of other lifestyle benefits.

If you think you have the right mix of administrative and technical skills to succeed in a role of this nature please  apply.
