Job Description

A small yet well-established business specialising in providing communication technology, for a portfolio of clients in the London area, are seeking a Hardware Engineer to join their tight-knit team, providing a mixture of remote and field support (30% field / 70% office).

The role would suit a practical individual who is able and willing to ensure physical installation of cables and networking equipment, rebuilding PC's, reimaging and installing drives, as well as providing user support across their bespoke CMS software, VoIP, Apps and Mobile Devices. This is a customer centric role which requires someone who uses their initiative, a good team player who is happy to work a busy and varied role in a small but supportive team.

The clients require high network availability and a large focus of this role will be supporting the customer with this, troubleshooting network connectivity issues, helping increase internet speeds, identifying virus' that may be affecting performance, managing back ups (remote and onsite).

In addition to providing support remotely and over the telephone, you will also be required to travel to clients site when necessary. You will be given access to the company car however, it is essential that you have a full driving license at the point of applying.

Core responsibilities of the role will include;

-Supporting within a Windows 7 environment.
- Diagnosing software and hardware faults.
-Configuring of DrayTek routers.
- Installing and testing hardware and software.
-Building and upgrading PC's .
-Maintaining and troubleshooting the Avaya VoIP systems.
-Installing and maintaining antivirus and malware software.

To be successful in this role it is essential that you have fantastic customer service skills and experience in a small and hands on environment. Additionally, experience with DrayTek routers would be considered highly advantageous alternatively, experience with Cisco Routers or switches would be equally beneficial to your application. Also experience with Avaya VoIP would be favourable.

The working hours for this position are Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:00 however, due to the nature the business this role will occasionally require on call support which will be rotated across the team.
