Job Description

A fantastic opportunity to take a leading role as an IT Director, has arisen within a highly regarded professional organisation. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop and execute IT strategy whilst working closely with Senior Management to steer the business.

To be suitable for this position you will be a highly motivated self starter and looking for the next step up in your career. This is a strategic role where you will be managing a team of four and driving the technical direction and development of the IT department.

Key responsibilities of this Head of IT role include:
- Deriving an ICT strategy, policy and best practice procedures, ensuring effective implementation across the business
- Champion the use of ICT equipment and the incorporation of new technologies
-Ensure consistent compliance and maintain records
- Having overall responsibility for procurement of all new IT equipment, hardware and software, including maintaining software licensing
- Developing the ICT budget and ensuring all projects operate on target to ensure value for money
- Project manage all new IT projects and implementations, as well as managing software and hardware updates; maintaining the WAN, LAN and remote connectivity; and managing the server and SAN hardware, software and backups to ensure optimal functionality
- Manage ICT security to minimise risks across the business, including maintaining firewalls, antivirus, access controls, etc.
- Manage the IT team ensuring there are adequate resources available, and conduct any appraisals or supervision as required

This is a position which requires technical leadership and a hands on approach as well as comprehensive man management experience.

The starting salary for this role is up to £50,000, 36 days holiday (inclusive of bank holidays), health insurance, season ticket loan and additional benefits.
