Job Description

A successful business that has been operating for more than 20 years is looking for a bright and motivated Interim Payroll Assistant to be based in the Canterbury area, Kent. This contract for initially 5-6 weeks, may be extended for the right candidate.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Payroll Manager to provide full payroll services for a range of clients. Duties will include processing all new starters and leavers, answering payroll queries, calculating statutory payments (maternity, paternity and sickness), CIS, reconciling payroll control accounts, updating data on Payroll software, managing National Insurance deductions and pension contributions as well as co-ordinating salary sacrifice.

In order to be suitable for this position it is essential to have worked in a Payroll Assistant, Payroll Associate, Payroller or similar Payroll focussed position, ideally within a payroll bureau. You must have detailed knowledge of the full payroll lifecycle and payroll software. The ideal candidate needs to be self-motivated, organised and able to work to deadlines with a can-do attitude.
