Job Description

A highly prestigious and internationally renowned travel business, with a current turnover of £70million, are now seeking a dynamic and commercially minded Financial Controller to partner the business moving forward and lead the UK Finance team.

You will play an integral role in the business, working closely with and being very much part of a core team, with the ability to make a difference in the organisation. The role is varied and alongside the day to day financial responsibilities, you will be assisting the MD with business analysis, highlighting areas for concern, as well as working on improving the efficiency of the Finance department, to managing the FX exposure and hedging portfolio.

As the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for overlooking the preparation of month-end and yearly management accounts, analysing overheads and also producing cost centre budgets and reforecasts, whilst also coordinating the divisional annual budget and 3 year plan process. Additionally, you will be the primary contact for annual external audits and production of annual statutory accounts as well as statutory reporting.

This role is very much a blend of strategy and operational finance support, so it requires the individual to be pragmatic and happy to work hands on. You will also be expected to grow and mentor an existing team of 7, so must come with the experience of leading and managing a team yourself.

To be considered for this role you must;
Be ACCA or CIMA qualified
Have strong analytical skills
Adept at using Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables & Formulas)
Be a confident all round finance professional, demonstrating strong commercial acumen and relationship building skills.
Travel industry experience would be highly desirable, but not essential to securing the role.

The successful candidate should also be confident around using and picking up new technologies. Experience with SAP would be considered particularly advantageous.
