SQL DBA – Hybrid - £65,000

 

A highly successful and rapidly growing software house are looking for a SQL DBA to join their IT team.  This is a brilliant opportunity to join an established business at an exciting time as they begin the transition to the cloud. 

 

Working within a team of high capable Developers, Testers and Engineers you will be responsible for installing, configuring and maintaining SQL Server databases; monitoring database performance and tuning for optimal efficiency.    You will also design, implement and maintain backup and recovery procedures, and security measures to protect sensitive data and collaborate with development teams and operations to troubleshoot issues and optimize database performance.

 

The ideal candidate for this SQL DBA role will have solid experience of SQL Server, proficient in all aspects of administration and configuration, through the full lifecycle from installation, maintenance and upgrades for on-premise and cloud based deployments.  You will have the ability to monitor database performance and tune for optimal efficiency using tools like Foglight or Query Analyser.  Experience with database performance tuning techniques such as index, query and storage optimisation would also be beneficial.  Solid knowledge of backup and recovery procedures including the design, implementation and troubleshooting of issues with backup, recovery and DR strategies as part of a business continuity plan would be advantageous.   Proficiency in scripting languages like TSQL for automating database management tasks would be useful too.

 

The salary on offer for this SQL DBA role is £65,000 plus bonus and benefits.
