Head of Digital

The Ashdown Group has been commissioned by The Royal Foundation and The Earthshot Prize to identify a creative and highly analytical Head of Digital to join their rapidly expanding team.

The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge unites people to tackle some of today’s biggest challenges. They recognise that when people come together, they can achieve great things and they use their passion and unique influence to make a lasting difference on the issues that matter most to society. The Earthshot Prize is a not-for-profit start-up which currently sits within The Royal Foundation but will spin out to become an affiliated independent organisation in 2022.  

The Earthshot Prize is the most prestigious global environment prize in history, designed to incentivise change and help repair our planet over the next ten years. The Prize aims to turn the current pessimism surrounding environmental issues into optimism by highlighting the ability of human ingenuity to bring about change and inspire collective action.

The Earthshot Prize is more than a Prize – they are building a Platform to regenerate the Earth within a decade. To deliver this audacious vision, TEP is now seeking an accomplished and purpose driven digital marketing expert with the requisite passion and experience to take this fledgling global brand to the next level online.

You will be the digital marketing expert within the company and will lead, inspire, and direct the broader team in this space. You will report into the Marketing Director and be responsible for growing awareness of The Earthshot Prize globally. You will have the opportunity to shape the overall digital marketing strategy. You will plan, execute, test, and optimise digital marketing campaigns across multiple paid and organic channels, develop strategic partnerships with Meta, Microsoft, Google etc., and oversee social media content.

In order to be suitable for this role you must be a highly analytical, creative and versatile marketer with a passion for digital. You are extremely curious with a willingness to grow, and you are comfortable with a role that will change as the organisation evolves. You will have demonstrable expertise creating value through digital channels, while previous experience building and developing a two-sided marketplace would be preferred.

You will be creative, commercial and curious, constantly working to ensure content is as good as it can be no matter the channel, no matter the topic. You will have experience developing digital content for multiple channels, building marketing performance analytics, and growing a social media presence across all platforms.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Partner with the creative team to develop content needed for TEP digital channels

  • Manage The Earthshot Prize social media presence, defining strategy and tactics for expanding the brand’s social media audience, including continually testing awareness and engagement strategies

  • Develop an online marketing analytics framework and own campaign performance reporting across all digital channels

  • Lead and develop social media paid/advertising campaign strategy, planning, and implementation. This includes managing external partners and managing monthly budget 

  • Develop and manage website, SEO, social media and email campaigns  

You will provide inspirational leadership to a small high-performance team and will measure the success of digital marketing strategies with a view to creating a culture of continuous innovation and improvement.
