Assistant Accountant - 3 Month Contract

Responsible for all financial aspects of the Ashdown Group. Maintaining effective standards and systems of financial control, budgetary appraisal, management information and reporting.

You will be responsible for a number of shared tasks and will need to be able to work well within a team. The whole accounts department aims to cross train into each others roles to cover responsibilities when needed.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Reconciliation of accounts
• Purchase and sales ledger
• Managing credit control process
• Completing year end procedures before being submitted to the auditors
• VAT returns and reconciliation
• Writing journals and troubleshooting financial queries within the business
• Management Information for business stakeholders

Skills:

• Sage Line 50
• Good Microsoft Office skills
• Excellent Excel

Profile:

• Previous accounts experience in a similar role
• Experienced, partly qualified CIMA/ACCA
• Educated to degree level standard, ideally an accountancy degree.
• Proactive approach to accountancy
• High degree of personal energy and drive
• Imaginative, ideas person, constantly striving to improve processes and delivery of the financial function to the business.

No Cold Calling - Full Recruitment Training Given - Our high achievers earn just over £60,000 a year, managing and developing their business relationships. Our recruitment consultants are given vacancies to work on - they don't cold call.

Starting basic salary £20,000 - £25,000 depending on experience, rising to £27,500 and finally £30,000 on completion of defined targets. A number of our consultants are on a basic salary of £30,000.

We are registering more vacancies than our existing teams can resource - give up cold calling for good and concentrate on just making placements. We will provide you with IT, HR, Marketing and Accountancy vacancies to work on. You will benefit from our in-house database of over 570,000 CV's and utilise the very latest CV searching technology.

A key differentiator between the Ashdown Group and some of our competitors is our payment of commission on every placement an Account Manager makes - even if targets aren't achieved. Our team has an average of 5 years service, a statistic that supports employee satisfaction at Ashdown.

Structured increases in basic salary are available if people hit targets over a 6 and 12 month period. We have started to interview top performers with a view to increasing the size of our existing high performance team in 2012.
