What to do now
Contacting your recruiter at the Ashdown Group is an important part of the interview process going forward. We’d like to know how you got on and establish whether you’re interested in the opportunity you have interviewed for.
Calling Ashdown after your interview gives us the opportunity to discuss your suitability with our Client, further making clear your interest and enthusiasm.
It’s nice to be able to discuss the positives and if necessary, we may be able to gently iron out any of the answers you’ve given that you’re not entirely happy with!
Confidentiality
The Ashdown Group believe that ethical recruitment is essential for everyone. We have strong moral beliefs that distance us from some of our competitors.
A sad fact of life is that some recruitment consultancies bring our profession into disrepute, with their results at all costs approach to recruitment.
The Ashdown Group policy is to put people first. It’s not unfortunately uncommon for recruitment consultants at some agencies to drill their candidates for interview information claiming that they need to know exact details of the interviews you’ve attended.
The information gained is used only to benefit the recruiter and doesn’t benefit YOU. Some recruiters will call the companies you have interviewed at to ‘pick up’ the vacancy you have interviewed for in the hope that they can make a placement.
This of course, far from benefits you! The Ashdown Group suggests that you should keep your interview details strictly confidential in order to stand the BEST chance of securing the job you want. If you give away company names and interview information to recruiters, the likelihood is you’ll be up against fierce competition from the candidates they send to the vacancy you have told them about!
