Top-level marketing recruitment at Vodafone UK

UK telecoms giant Vodafone UK has made a major marketing recruitment move.
Srini Gopalan becomes the company's latest high-profile acquisition, moving across from industry rival T-Mobile UK, where he worked as chief marketing officer.
The new appointee takes up an equivalent role with Vodafone UK, replacing Ian Shepherd, who recently left the company.
Mr Gopalan had only been in his role at T-Mobile since April 2009, having previously held office as the UK managing director of credit card provider Capital One.
However, the lure of a move to Vodafone has proved too much to resist, and he will lead domestic promotional efforts in the firm's Consumer Business Unit.
Guy Laurence, chief executive at Vodafone UK, commented: "Srini brings a wealth of knowledge around delivering great value to new and existing customers by driving effective marketing campaigns which increase market share."
Earlier this week, drugs firm Nutra Pharma hired consultant David Isserman as its new chief marketing officer.
