Streamline tablet Dell Streak to compete with Apple's iPad

Another IT giant has announced plans to enter the booming tablet computer market.
In the week Apple launches its heavily-hyped iPad in the UK, Dell has unveiled its own rival, the 5# Streak.
Set to debut in the UK on June 4th, the 3G and Wi-Fi-enabled device is billed as a cross between a tablet and a smartphone.
Smaller than the iPad, the Android touch-screen tablet is also likely to retail at a lower price than Apple's flagship product.
However, given that the Dell Streak works as a mobile phone as well as an entertainment support system, the respective products could appeal to slightly different consumer segments.
Unlike the iPad, the Streak is receiving its initial launch in the UK - potentially in a bid to distract attention away from the iPad's domestic entry this Friday (May 28th).
More than a million units of the iPad tablet have been sold in the US since its launch in April 2010.
