Growth in the permanent jobs market reached its strongest level in almost three years during February, it has been reported.
According to the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC)/KPMG's latest Report on Jobs, demand for staff increased for the fifth consecutive month.
Kevin Green, chief executive of the REC, said the UK jobs market was continuing to improve.
"Increasing employer confidence has resulted in the best performance we've seen in permanent employment for two-and-a-half years," he noted.
Mr Green added that the IT recruitment market had shown "particularly strong growth" during the month, with significant increases in demand being witnessed for administration and back-office support roles.
Earlier this week, Contractor UK reported that demand for IT contractors was continuing to increase, applying upward pressure to freelancer rates.
