Scottish accountancy recruitment market 'is buoyant'

Accountancy recruitment activity is picking up in Scotland, it has been reported.
Mark Hoskyns-Abrahall, graduate recruitment partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Scotland, told eFinancial Careers that the firm was looking for 25 experienced staff in the region.
He claimed that this represented an improvement on the jobs market of three or four months ago, when there was a shortage of accountancy vacancies.
Mr Hoskyns-Abrahall commented: "Financial services is definitely one area where there is pretty strong demand, with our assurance practice looking for a number of qualified and newly qualified people.
"We are also seeing demand within our public sector practice as well as risk assurance services, so treasury, IT and core audit teams."
Earlier this week, Big Four rival KPMG revealed it was conducting accountancy recruitment at offices across the north-west of England.
