New online fraud taskforce set upA new taskforce to combat online fraud has been set up by the British Computer Society (BCS).

The Cybercrime Forensics Specialist Group will look at ways to clamp down on the crime and also collect data to use as evidence in court, news which might interest IT recruitment staff.

Denis Edgar-Nevill, a BCS fellow and chairman of the new body, claimed that the growing complexity of online crime means it is more important than ever to keep an eye on what happens on the internet.

He said: "We particularly want to look at how the Chinese tackled this issue in the lead up to this year's Olympic Games.

"As we move closer to 2012, cybercrime will become an even more important focus for the UK."

Last week, a study by the IT Job Board found that 72 per cent of those working in the sector expect the skill gap it faces to grow on a yearly basis.ADNFCR-1914-ID-18942411-ADNFCR
