The Times has appointed a new head of marketing, it has been reported.
Paul Gilshan will assume the role, newly-created at the London daily newspaper, in the third week of February.
He joins the Times from satellite broadcaster BskyB, where he worked as head of marketing for Sky Movies, Sky Box Office and Sky Real Lives.
Mr Gilshan will report directly to Alexandra Lewis, marketing director at Times Newspapers, in his new position.
He will be charged with attracting new readers to the group's titles and maintaining consumer loyalty.
Last week, it was reported that the Daily Mail was embarking on a £10 million television advertising campaign.
Roland Agambar, chief marketing officer at Associated and Northcliffe Media, told the Guardian that the Mail was looking to attract new readers, particularly working-age women.
