Big Four giant KPMG has announced plans to increase its accountancy recruitment activity in the north-west of England.
A number of partners and directors are being sought for the firm's management consultancy arm, according to the Manchester Evening News.
New employees will be taken on at KPMG's offices in Manchester, Liverpool and Preston as the company aims to increase its turnover.
Jonathan Hurst, chair of KPMG's northern division, said clients are increasingly turning to the firm for help and advice as the economy continues to stutter.
"Looking ahead, we foresee demand for these services to only increase further, especially from organisations across the public sector which will now be looking to make efficiency savings in the wake of government spending cuts."
Rival firms PricewaterhouseCoopers and Ernst & Young have also committed to further accountancy recruitment in recent months.
