HR News |  24/02/2010
KPMG makes major HR appointment Big Four firm KPMG has appointed a new UK head of people to lead its HR department.

Michelle Quest will be charged with directing the company's personnel strategy and policy development, following the promotion of Rachel Campbell to the global executive team.

The new appointee has worked for KPMG since 1997, when she joined from Robson Rhodes to become a mergers and acquisitions tax partner.

John Griffith-Jones, senior partner of KPMG in the UK, said he was "delighted" that Ms Quest is taking on "a very important role".

He stated: "We know that in order to deliver the best service to clients we need to have the best people - our people philosophy is geared to enable us to achieve this, creating an environment where talent can flourish."

Earlier this month, the Ashdown Group Jobs Index pointed to a significant rise in HR recruitment activity, with UK vacancy levels increasing by a fifth during January 2010.
