Sentiment among HR professionals has almost returned to levels witnessed prior to the recession, it has been reported.
According to research conducted by consultancy firm Hewitt Associates, 92 per cent of European HR directors are happy working in the profession.
Just seven per cent of respondents said they felt a conflict between their personal values and daily HR business practices.
Leonardo Sforza, head of EU affairs and research at Hewitt Associates and author of the study, suggested that job satisfaction levels could rise even higher if HR becomes more involved in strategic decision making.
Professionals also wish to see the execution of HR-related activities improve and feel that their voice is heard more at board level, he claimed.
Last week, Gillian Fox, HR director at Friends Provident, claimed that human resource departments will be vital to businesses' futures over the coming decade.
