HR professionals 'can identify staff in a variety of...HR professionals should embrace a variety of sourcing strategies as they bid to meet their organisation's personnel demand, it has been claimed.

Writing for the Deccan Herald, senior HR professional Bhima Rao cited a number of potential avenues for finding staffing solutions, including employee transfer, promotion, trainee schemes, referrals and walk-in interviews.

The use of placement consultants, employment exchanges, training institutes and social networking sites can also help HR staff discover new employees, he claimed.

Mr Rao explained that long-term recruitment planning should involve low or no costs, whereas short-term hiring may require greater expenses being incurred.

"HR professionals need to do lot of research and make sure that they take the correct steps to source the right candidates," Mr Rao commented.

"This is more so as the days ahead are going to be tighter on cost and the parameters for recruitment will keep changing in a competitive environment."

PricewaterhouseCoopers partner Michael Rendell has claimed that HR models will change over the coming decade as businesses aim to attract and retain employees more efficiently.
