Contractor recruitment 'provides immediate access to...Businesses can continue to derive benefits through contractor recruitment, it has been suggested.

Speaking as the PCG launched its new Britain's Brain Gain strategy, the organisation's managing director John Brazier highlighted the talent contained within the UK's flexible workforce.

He commented that freelancers offer employers ready access to a high level of skills and experience, with the potential of an immediate start and few contractual obligations.

"The talent pool of freelance workers offers flexibility to companies, groups and organisations; it helps them manage risk and unlock innovation and talent within their business," Mr Brazier stated.

"I would say to every managing director in the UK, while your competitor is thinking about it, you could have a team of freelancers delivering it."

According to PCG, the organisation formerly known as the Professional Contractors Group, the freelance workforce is directly worth £21 billion to the UK economy.
