Over a third of UK companies are planning to increase their marketing budgets in the next 12 months, according to a new study.
In news which may interest people working in marketing recruitment, a survey by Shape the Future found that 36.4 per cent of businesses intend to spend more money on their marketing techniques in the coming year.
Utalkmarketing.com reports that 25.1 per cent of respondents aim to increase their online promotions and 11.9 per cent strive to improve their PR activities.
The survey also found that networking and website optimisation were two aspects of marketing which businesses cited as those in which they plan to increase spending.
Peter Martin, managing director at Shape the Future, told the site: "This suggests that companies are moving towards finding that lucrative balance to meld on and offline activity to boost their bottom line.
"The key is knowing where your customers are and what they are likely to respond to the most."
Statistical consultants Data Talk recently warned there is a potential for damage to firms which adopt direct marketing techniques through social networking sites.
