Birmingham marketing firms 'facing troubled times'

A number of marketing firms across the West Midlands could be facing tough trading conditions in the new year, it has been reported.
In news which will affect marketing recruitment across the area, the Birmingham Post reports that a number of agencies are facing the possibility of future job cuts.
Staff at Rees Bradley Hepburn and Shcmakk are currently facing the possibility of redundancies due to difficult trading conditions.
It is reported that marketing agency Armadillo has closed its office based in Nottingham and is consolidating it into its Birmingham site.
Catherine Connan, head of the office, told the newspaper: "It's fair to say the market has not been brilliant, so we have seen constriction in our fee income.
"We have gone where the strengths and the client relationships lie, as well as the opportunities for the future."
Lastminute.com recently announced it was boosting its marketing activity in order to help increase sales by 20 per cent, Precision Marketing reported.
