BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, is taking steps to simplify the creation of ITQ qualifications, it has been revealed.
The industry body is launching an innovative new tool, called Qualifications Builder, which will help demonstrate the versatility of ITQ qualifications.
It will enable providers to see the complete range of options open to them and design their own unique versions to meet customer needs.
The BCS Qualifications Builder, which will be available for free online later in 2012, will feature all the courses available within the ITQ framework.
These include the European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL), which remains the most popular qualification that maps to the framework.
Martyn Lambert, director of qualifications at BCS, said the ITQ framework consists of "many different options".
"We want to ensure that education and training providers offering elements of the framework can easily build their own qualification to suit their customers," he stated.
"Our new tool, when it’s launched in the summer, will offer a one-stop place for course leaders to see what’s available at every level for qualifications that map to the ITQ framework.”
BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, currently works with 2,000 centres across the UK to deliver industry-standard, relevant qualifications such as ECDL.
These include training providers, schools, further education colleges, universities and government organisations.
