Accountancy recruitment: Employers seeking flexible workers

Technology innovations are changing the way professionals work within the financial services sector, it has been reported.
According to In the News, the growing popularity of cloud computing and virtualisation technology is encouraging a change in employers' priorities when they conduct accountancy recruitment.
The site suggests that employers are no longer looking simply for employees with strong numeric skills, but also those who are at home with a computer ? metaphorically and literally.
In the News suggests that flexible and home-based accountancy jobs are increasingly becoming available, as employers turn to IT and managed services to reduce costs and improve worker productivity.
The news provider comments: "As long as they have internet access, accountants can work with clients in different geographical locations.
"They can also keep up with firms who work outside regular business hours."
According to the Ashdown Group Jobs Index, the number of advertised accountancy positions fell by 1.24 per cent during a snow-affected January.
