Accountancy jobseekers 'should look outside London'
Accountancy News |
People looking for accountancy jobs during the recession should consider positions outside of London, according to one expert.
Sonja Stockton, head of recruitment at PricewaterhouseCoopers, explained that although firms are still creating new positions, they might be in locations which applicants had not previously considered.
Issuing advice to graduates, she also suggested they look at a range of accountancy jobs to see what is on offer.
She said: "Look at different locations, different organisations, and different opportunities beyond your first choices, because if you understand your goals, it will all contribute to building a great career."
Recently, Simon Allport, a spokesperson for Ernst & Young, claimed that the north-west is currently a popular location of finance and business services firms which are looking to expand beyond London.
The area was one of five UK regions which saw a growth in inward investment despite a national decline, Mr Allport added.
