Network Engineer

  • This client, which employs almost 200 people, is looking to add an additional Network Engineer to work at a senior level within their Birmingham head office. The company is expanding further but already has a client base of over 2,000 businesses in Birmingham and the north west.

    Covering an area around central Birmingham this person will join a highly skilled engineering team. The company strive to provide expert support, at a level which exceeds established SLAs and their own quality standards.

    To be suitable for the role our client will expect you to demonstrate commercial experience of installing, configuring and maintaining six key technology areas:
    • Virtualisation (VMware, Hyper V)
    • SAN Storage (NetApp, HP)
    • Windows Servers (2003-2008) with Active Directory
    • Exchange Servers (2003-2010)
    • Switching (Layer 2 and 3)
    • Business Firewalls (Cisco, Sonicwall, CheckPoint)

    In addition any skills in VDI, Citrix, 2FA or thin client configuration would be beneficial.

    This role combines head office and field based work and therefore a full and clean UK driving licence is required. Due to the nature of some businesses our client work with, all new employees need to pass a CRB check.

    In return for your services our client is offering a basic salary from £25,000 to £35,000 for this permanent role. On top of this the company will pay overtime, commission on additional services sold and have a pension scheme. A company car is also provided.
