  • A leading technology and IT solutions provider based in Central London, have an opportunity for a Linux Systems Administrator to join their talented team on a 3 month contract. They are well established and well recognised - leaders in their field with clients that include numerous household names.

    To be able to complete this contract it would be expected that you would have extensive Linux experience - including OS updates and management, log file management and application install. You will need to have done scripting work - particularly with PHP, MySQL, HTML and JavaScript (Shell, Perl or C# possibly suitable). You will certainly need to have commercial experience of monitoring systems (e.g. Cacti or Nagios) and SNMP.

    They have a need to improve the IPSLA monitoring system, the SYSLOG system and roll out a more consistent, scalable and low maintenance solution for the network. You will be required to set up an IPSLA monitoring system that will provide greater resilience, more reliability when alerting engineers of sub-optimal performance or an SLA breach and provides automated reporting.

    You will be initially tasked with identifying the best solution to generate the SYSLOG and email alerts. You will then install and configure the system in line with the business's expectations. From here your remit expands to include documentation, testing, reporting and monitoring.
    • Est. 3month contract offering up to £250 per day.
