Infrastructure Manager

Our client; a highly successful, niche network & Connectivity provider with a client base that includes many household names is seeking a talented, versatile Infrastructure Manager with a broad skill set and excellent written and verbal skills.

This is a client facing role and is a fantastic opportunity to join a strong, friendly technical team with a flexible approach to their work.

You will be working closely with the IT team to maintain, build and configure systems that support the common shared platforms that service multiple customers.

A positive approach and strong troubleshooting skills are essential as is the flexibility to provide technical support at all levels.

In order to be suitable for this role you will be expected to have:

- Experience with Active Directory, Exchange & VMware solutions

- Demonstrable technical skills with Windows Servers 2003/2008

- Experience setting up ESX clusters

- Experience setting up Microsoft clusters for applications like SQL & Hyper-V

- Experience with server hardware - particularly HP & Dell

- CISCO

- Knowledge of WAN topologies & networking protocols

- Knowledge of patch management systems & best practice processes

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

- Supporting the existing estate of servers; collocated, on-site & virtualised

- To design, build & implement new hardware and software solutions

- To review existing systems & identify potential improvements and develop through to implementation

- To physically install & configure new hardware & monitor & maintain existing systems

- To ensure all systems are built with resiliency & are in a High Availability model

- To deal with monitoring alerts and participate in an on call rota to support systems out of hours.

A relevant degree (or equivalent) and qualifications such as: MCSE/MCIT, CCNA or VCP would strongly support your application but are certainly not essential.
