Infrastructure Engineer

  • A well established company based in Stirling requires a Senior IT Technician to support the company infrastructure and also support client infrastructures where required.

    The role will require strong technical knowledge of Cisco Networking and VMWare experience. Experience of SAN installation would also be highly beneficial.

    The position will support the company infrastructure and implement new technologies where required. You will also be involved in the design and installation of Virtualisation and SAN solutions at client sites and also general client IT support. You will need to research new technologies and keep up to date with any key developments within IT and provide recommendations to clients on how to improve their systems.

    The main technologies we are looking for are:

    VMWare & Hyper-V technologies
    Cisco/ HP Networks
    Cisco Call Manager and VOIP solutions
    Desktop Applications
    Wireless Solutions
    Cisco Security technologies (firewall, IPS)
    SAN technologies
    Windows architecture
    Enterprise Microsoft applications (Exchange, SQL)

    The role is based in Stirling but will involve weekly travel to client sites around Central Scotland and occasionally further afield. Due to this travel, a company car is added to the benefits package.

    Due to the level of client interaction, the candidate must have excellent communication skills as they will be involved in pre-sales activities and client meetings.
