The Ashdown Group is a small friendly recruitment company based in central Kingston upon Thames. With a turnover of £6m and 25 staff, every member of the team really has the chance to make a difference to company success.
We have an opening for an Assistant Accountant to cover initially a 3 month staff absence.
Responsible for all financial aspects of the Ashdown Group. Maintaining effective standards and systems of financial control, budgetary appraisal, management information and reporting.
You will be responsible for a number of shared tasks and will need to be able to work well within a team. The whole accounts department aims to cross train into each others roles to cover responsibilities when needed.
Key responsibilities will include:
Reconciliation of accounts
Purchase and sales ledger
Managing credit control process
Completing year end procedures before being submitted to the auditors
VAT returns and reconciliation
Writing journals and troubleshooting financial queries within the business
Management Information for business stakeholders
Skills:
Sage Line 50
Good Microsoft Office skills
Excellent Excel
Profile:
Previous accounts experience in a similar role
Experienced, partly qualified CIMA/ACCA
Educated to degree level standard, ideally an accountancy degree.
Proactive approach to accountancy
High degree of personal energy and drive
Imaginative, ideas person, constantly striving to improve processes and delivery of the financial function to the business.
