Application Support Engineer

A successful IT company that has been operating for over 15 years is looking to recruit an experienced Application Support Engineer into their established team. This is an exciting opportunity to join an organisation that has an established client base across multiple industries.

Working within a small team of support professionals you will be tasked with providing telephone and remote support for the organisation's principle SQL Server based product and other business applications. You will be given full responsibility to resolve queries received by telephone, email and other media, and for the more advanced issues you will be required to work with other team members. Please note, you will occasionally need to visit customer sites to deliver services. As part of a larger group of support staff the successful candidate will have the opportunity to cross-train and support the wider range of business applications supplied.

In order to be suitable for this role you must have proven IT support skills, ideally supporting a bespoke application. The successful candidate will have a good knowledge of MS SQL Server, including SQL scripting, the delivery of data fixes, triggers and views and ideally ODBC linking. It is also essential to have excellent customer service skills and a good understanding of accounts principles.
