  • A successful Technology company based in the Canary Wharf / Docklands area of London has a new opportunity for an Application Architect to join their team on a permanent basis.

    To be suitable for the role you will need to come from a hands-on technical background and have proven commercial experience of developing enterprise applications through the full lifecycle.
    A solid understanding of software architectural patterns and approaches, including service orientation and distributed systems is essential.

    The responsibilities for this position will include the following:

    • Defining the overall technical structure of the Applications Architecture
    • Analysing user project proposals, identify omissions & errors in requirements
    • Conduct feasibility studies on existing technologies, new products & new projects
    • Recommending best approach & developing technical designs for approved projects
    • Developing & maintaining an overall view of all applications, the relationships between them & how they support business processes

    The role will suit an excellent communicator with a strong interest in remaining up to date with emerging technologies. The ability to converse with non-technical leaders and articulate technical strategies to senior managers will need to be demonstrated at interview.

    Working closely with group department heads and key stakeholder the Applications Architect will need to deliver a high level of information, planning and strategy whilst maintaining the capacity, security and performance of the technology platform.

    The overall remit of this role is as follows: to work with development resources to deliver solutions and act as the bridge between the business experts and software suppliers to ensure alignment of the Applications suite to the strategic aims of the organisation. There are no direct line management responsibilities at this point – though this may change in the future. Instead, you will work within a matrix environment managing resources drawn from varying teams across the organisation for varying projects.
    • Offering a basic salary of up to £62,500 per annum plus an annual bonus of £5,000
