Charity Work

Since 1999, we have supported numerous charities, and spent blood, sweat and tears in the process!

It has always been our intention to support charities that are either close to our hearts or close to our office. Supporting local charities is particularly satisfying because we are often able to see evidence of our small contribution making a difference. I was in the KingstonCan cancer support centre recently and can honestly say that contributing towards such a brilliant centre made me really proud of the Ashdown team.

Swimathon, April 2009 - Having taken swimming lessons from a local pool, Director John Lynes signed up on the 11th hour to complete a 2.5km swim for the Marie Curie Swimathon. He successfully completed the distance in 55 minutes finishing 242nd out of 3500 swimmers! Raising much-needed funds for the charity in the process.

Windsor Triathlon, May 2009 - Actually it was called a Super Sprint Triathlon but we are not sure if that was too accurate in this instance. Our Ashdown team swam 400m in goose infested waters, cycled 20km (in the wind and rain) and finished with a 5km sprint!

100k South Downs Way, July 2009 - Our very own Service Delivery Manager, Christian Patton was on an expedition that Hillary and Tenzing would be proud of. On 19th July, Christian and three friends walked 100km of the South Downs Way in under 30 hours. This was a non-stop blister fest in aid of Oxfam and the Gurkha Welfare Trust.
