This is an excellent opportunity for a talented and creative Web Designer to join a large and award winning company in central Birmingham. The role will suit a technology enthusiast with a good understanding of W3C web standards, cross browser / platform compatibility issues, usability and accessibility.
To be considered for this role it is essential that you have prior experience of front-end design and devolvement of e-commerce websites.
You will be designing interfaces, working with interactive interface elements and supporting materials for cutting-edge web-based applications with a focus on ease of use, cross-browser support and professional presentation.
Your responsibilities will include all the design stages from detailed graphical concepts through to structural presentation, design of interactive elements and frontend development.
You must have solid skills hand-coding and working with all or most of the below:
• HTML
• XHTML
• CSS
• jQuery or JavaScript
• Photoshop
Any experience of hand coding jQuery or JavaScript, AspDotNetStorefront or XSLT and any knowledge of ASP.Net, Visual Studio 2008/2010, or data base technologies or would be of an advantage although they are certainly not essential.
The successful candidate will be working as part of a dynamic and talented design team and you will have the opportunity to work on a number of large scale ASP.Net applications and be involved with the R&D of other technologies including WPF, Windows 8, and Windows Phone.
You will be asked to produce examples of your design and development work i.e. portfolio, links to sites and screen shots as part of the application process so please ensure you can provide this.
It is expected that the successful candidate for this role will have a good degree in a relevant discipline i.e. Computer Science, Multimedia, Business Systems or Information Technology (or equivalent).
