The Ashdown Group has been engaged to assist a firmly established and cutting edge science and technology sector business in their search for a Java Developer. The role is focused on modelling using Java and a background in mathematics or the sciences would be highly attractive.
The successful candidate will have strong Java programming skills and ideally, some experience with PHP. Database development skills are also required and you should be familiar with at least one relational database system (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, Sybase etc). An understanding of Object Oriented Programming and knowledge of structured development methodologies would be highly beneficial.
Software Engineering or Computer Science degrees will be of particular interest especially where they have been allied to scientific or mathematical disciplines. Salary: Up to £28,000
