Helpdesk Analyst
Description:
We are seeking an experienced 2nd and 3rd Line Support Analyst to join one of the West Midlands largest IT solutions providers. Based in central Birmingham the role is focused on providing remote and telephone support to a varied customer base.
This role will suit a talented individual who is a technology enthusiast and keen to remain up to date with their skills.
Primarily focused on escalated calls from the less experienced Service Desk team members you will need to be both customer facing and technical. The core responsibilities of the role will include providing IT support to customers over email and the telephone.
To be considered for this role you must have extensive commercial experience working on a support desk resolving 1st-3rd line problems related to all or most of the following:
• Windows Desktops and Servers
• VMware
• Exchange
• Switches, Routers & Firewalls
• Networking and network storage
• Citrix
Any experience of SQL configuration, VDI, 2FA, SSLVPNs or thin-client configuration would be beneficial but is not essential as training in these areas can be provided.
It is expected that the successful candidate for this position will have a good degree from a recognised University and in a relevant discipline i.e. Computer Science, Information Technology or Business Systems (or equivalent)
The company has a large and talented IT team and there are many long term career opportunities.
• This is a permanent position and they will consider candidates from £20-25,000 pa dependent on relevant skills and experience plus pension.
• There is the opportunity to earn commission should a client purchase a solution or product recommended by you in the course of resolving their technical problems - this is NOT a sales role in any respect; this is merely an added benefit
